Luisa PastoreWith a background in Architectural Engineering, Luisa specialised in sustainable architecture, bioclimatic design and comfort in buildings through a PhD from the University of Palermo (2013) followed by a Post-doc at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) of EPFL (2014-2019).She is currently a Scientific Collaborator at the Smart Living Lab - EPFL and professor of Material Behaviour and Architecture and Energy Concept at the Ecole d’Architecture et d’Architecture d’Intérieur – idées House of Lausanne.She also works as Coordinator for the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction where she acts as a liaison between the Academic Committee and the core Management Office of the Foundation. Besides the coordination of the AC's agenda, she supports the organization of events and competitions for the promotion of innovative sustainable design solutions that can tackle today's environmental, socioeconomic, and cultural issues affecting the built environment.Since 2021 she has also joined Amber Lion Partners as Impact and Sustainability Advisor.

Architect EPFL SIA FAS, and previously Full Professor at EPFL, Inès Lamunière now heads with her partners:
dl-a, designlab-architecture SA, Geneva, Switzerland (https://www.dl-a.ch/).
This internationally known architecture firm has taken over all activities in the domain of urban planning that were previously led at the LAMU-EPFL Laboratory.
The architecture of dl-a, designlab-architecture displays a dedicated commitment to context and sustainability at all levels, transforming these concerns into distinctive and atmospheric buildings. Their projects and buildings have been exhibited (La galerie d’architecture, Paris in 2010, and Istituto Svizzero, Milano in 2019) and widely published (Birkhaüser 1997, 2006, 2019, Archibooks 2010, Infolio 2011 and 2018).
Inès Lamunière was born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1954. After studying architecture at the EPF Lausanne, where she graduated in 1980, she continued her training in architectural theory and history as a member of the Swiss Institute in Rome, and then became an assistant lecturer at the ETH Zurich under Professor Werner Oechslin. She co-edited the Geneva-based architecture journal Faces - Journal d’architectures from 1989 to 2004.
In 1996, 1999 and 2008 she was Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University.
In 1991 she was appointed as adjunct professor, Design Studio Master I-III at ETH Zurich and in 1994, as associate professor in Architecture and Design at EPF Lausanne. In parallel to her teaching and from 2001 to 2018, she set up and directed the research team and laboratory LAMU (Laboratory of Urban Architecture and Mobility – EPFL).
She was Chair of the Department of Architecture, EPFL, from 2008 to 2011 and Member of the Board of ARCHIZOOM, from 2008 to 2012.
She serves as Vice-President of the EPFL WISH Foundation (Women in Sciences and Humanities), from 2006 to 2016. And since 2016, Member of the Board of the Fondation pour le développement des arts et de la culture (FODAC) in Geneva.

Il passe ensuite 12 ans dans des centres de recherche industriels au Canada et en Suisse.Depuis 1988, D. Favrat est professeur et directeur du Laboratoire d'énergétique industrielle à l'EPFL. Il est aussi successivement directeur de l'Institut des Sciences de l'énergie et, dès janvier 2007, de l'Institut de Génie Mécanique. Ses recherches portent sur les analyses systémiques prenant en compte l'énergétique, l'environnement et l'économie (optimisation environomique), et les systèmes avancés pour une utilisation plus rationnelle de l'énergie (pompes à chaleur, moteurs, piles à combustible,turbomachines etc.)
Il est membre de l'Académie Suisse des Sciences Techniques et vice-président du comité énergie de la Fédération Mondiale des Organisations d'Ingénieurs. Il est éditeur associé du journal "Energy" et l'auteur de deux livres sur la thermodynamique et l'énergétique publiés aux Presses Polytechniques Universitaires Romandes.
Julien Lafontaine CarboniJulien Lafontaine Carboni is an architect. They graduated at ENSA Paris-Malaquais and currently pursue a PhD research at the ALICE Laboratory, EPFL. Julien published in several architectural, philosophical and anthropological journal such as Architecture and Culture, and Tabula Rasa. They investigates non-visual epistemologies to thread spatial histories. Bodies, gestures and words enact and perform spatialities, implying other forms of historicity concealed by the architectural disciplinarization. Thus, their aim is to replace architectural political agency in gestures themselves, while proposing a critical architectural historiography and theory.
Daniel ThalmannProf. Daniel Thalmann is Honorary Professor at EPFL and Director of Research development at MIRALab Sarl. He has been Visiting Professor at The Institute for Media Innovation (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) from 2009 to 2017. He is a pioneer in research on Virtual Humans. His current research interests include Real-time Virtual Humans in Virtual Reality, crowd simulation, and 3D Interaction. Daniel Thalmann has been the Founder of The Virtual Reality Lab (VRlab) at EPFL, Switzerland, Professor at The University of Montreal and Visiting Professor/ Researcher at CERN, University of Nebraska, University of Tokyo, and National University of Singapore. Until October 2010, he was the President of the Swiss Association of Research in Information Technology and one Director of the European Research Consortium in Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM). He is coeditor-in-chief of the Journal of Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, and member of the editorial board of 6 other journals. Daniel Thalmann was member of numerous Program Committees, Program Chair and CoChair of several conferences including IEEE VR, ACM VRST, and ACM VRCAI. Daniel Thalmann has published more than 500 papers in Graphics, Animation, and Virtual Reality. He is coeditor of 30 books, and coauthor of several books including 'Crowd Simulation' (second edition 2012) and 'Stepping Into Virtual Reality' (2007), published by Springer. He received his PhD in Computer Science in 1977 from the University of Geneva and an Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) from University Paul- Sabatier in Toulouse, France, in 2003.
