Meyer Township is a civil township of Menominee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 992 at the 2020 census. Hermansville is an unincorporated village within the township, and is where most of the population is concentrated. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and (0.48%) is water. Cunard is an unincorporated community at . Hermansville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place at . As of the census of 2000, there were 1,036 people, 440 households, and 285 families residing in the township. The population density was 11.5 per square mile (4.5/km2). There were 609 housing units at an average density of 6.8 per square mile (2.6/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 98.55% White, 0.10% African American, 0.68% Native American, 0.19% from other races, and 0.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.25% of the population. There were 440 households, out of which 29.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% were non-families. 30.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.96. In the township the population was spread out, with 24.8% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 102.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.7 males. The median income for a household in the township was 33,466,andthemedianincomeforafamilywas33,466, and the median income for a family was 41,250. Males had a median income of 29,750versus29,750 versus 17,443 for females. The per capita income for the township was $15,256. About 4.8% of families and 8.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.6% of those under age 18 and 13.
