Javanisation
Javanisation (Commonwealth spelling) or Javanization (North American and Oxford spelling) is the process in which Javanese culture dominates, assimilates, or influences other cultures in general (Jawanisasi or Penjawaan). The term "Javanise" means "to make or to become Javanese in form, idiom, style, or character". This domination could take place in various aspects; such as cultural, language, politics and social.
Tuban
Tuban is a town located on the north coast of Java, in Tuban Regency (of which the town is the administrative capital), approximately west of Surabaya, the capital of East Java. Tuban Regency is surrounded by Lamongan Regency in the east, Bojonegoro Regency in the south and Rembang Regency, Central Java in the west. Tuban town covers and in mid 2022 had an officially estimated population of 84,722. As an ancient town, Tuban is of considerable historical and cultural value.
Sekaten
Sekaten (ꦱꦼꦏꦠꦺꦤ꧀; from the Arabic word syahadatain) is a week-long Javanese traditional ceremony, festival, fair and pasar malam (night market) commemorating Mawlid (the birthday of the Islamic prophet Muhammad), celebrated annually started on 5th day through the 12th day of (Javanese Calendar) Mulud month (corresponding to Rabi' al-awwal in Islamic Calendar). The festivities usually took place in northern alun-alun (square) in Yogyakarta, and simultaneously also celebrated in northern alun-alun of Surakarta.
Principauté du Pakualaman
La principauté du Pakualaman (en javanais: ꦏꦢꦶꦥꦠꦺꦤ꧀ꦦꦏꦸꦮꦭꦩ꧀ꦩꦤ꧀, Kadipatèn Pakualaman) est une principauté héréditaire du sultanat de Yogyakarta créée en 1812 par les Britanniques. Le nouveau prince a été intronisé le avec le titre de Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya Paku Alam X. Il succède à son père, Paku Alam IX, décédé le . La guerre anglo-néerlandaise de Java (1810-1811), qui avait comme toile de fond les guerres napoléoniennes, s'était en effet traduite par la reddition des troupes hollandaises et l'occupation de Java par les Britanniques.
