EldoradoL'Eldorado (de l'espagnol El Dorado : « le doré ») est une contrée mythique d'Amérique du Sud supposée regorger d'or. Ce mythe est apparu dans la région de Bogota en 1536. Il a rapidement été relayé par les conquistadors espagnols qui y ont cru sur la base du récit du voyage de Francisco de Orellana par Gaspar de Carvajal, et dans le cadre du mythe plus ancien des cités d'or, qui était aussi largement diffusé à l'époque chez les conquistadors. Lache peopleThe Lache were an indigenous, agrarian people in the highlands of what is now central Colombia's northern Boyacá and Santander departments, primarily in Gutiérrez Province and García Rovira Province. They were part of the Cocuy Confederation and spoke Chibcha, trading predominantly with other Chibcha speakers, such as the Muisca, Guane, Pijao and Chitarero. Trade included salt and textiles, as well as food stuffs. The Lache farmed maize, potatoes, quinoa and cotton, among other crops.

Jenesano borders Nuevo Colón in the west, Ramiriquí in the east, Boyacá, Boyacá in the north and Tibaná in the south. Jenesano was called Piranguata at time of foundation. The name was changed in 1833 to Genazzano, referring to the province in Italy. Later, it became Jenesano, meaning "healthy people" or "healthy village".

Marchán refers to Pedro Merchan de Velasco, who was an 18th-century encomendero of Suta.
TibasosaTibasosa (tiβaˈsosa) is a municipality in the Sugamuxi Province, part of the Colombian department of Boyacá. Tibasosa borders Duitama and Nobsa in the north, Nobsa and Sogamoso in the east, Firavitoba in the south and Paipa in the west. The name Tibasosa comes from Chibcha and means "Chief of the domain". In the time before the Spanish conquest, Tibasosa was part of the Muisca Confederation, ruled by a cacique who was loyal to Tundama and the high priest iraca of Sugamuxi.
