Elda Fischi GomezElda Fischi-Gomez holds a BsC and a MsC degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC, Barcelona, Spain) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, 2015). Her main research interests center on the development and application of novel MRI techniques to clinics by optimising the inter-play between multi-modal MR analysis, MR physic/hardware and the underlying clinical neuroscience. She has worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the A.A. Martinos Center of Biomedical Imaging of the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA) with a Swiss National Foundation Fellowship. Since 2019 she joined the Signal Processing Laboratory 5 of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) with a SPN-PHRT individual grant from the EPFL-ETH domain on microstructure imaging for multiple sclerosis.
Christian DepeursingeChristian Depeursinge is the leader of the Microvision and Micro-Diagnostics (MVD) group at the Advanced Photonics Laboratory of the Institute of Microengineering at EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), Switzerland (http://apl.epfl.ch/muvision). His research and expertise in biomedical engineering and optics is internationally acknowledged. His current research topics include coherent and incoherent Imaging applied to diagnostics in biology, His research group pioneered in the development of DHM technology. He worked on several projects developed in cooperation with European and international partners. He is author and co-author of over 100 papers published in peer reviewed journals, several book chapters and more than 30 patents. He has given more than 20 invited lectures and plenaries in the last five years. He developed many projects in cooperation with national and international industries. He is co-founder of a start-up company (Lyncée Tec SA: www.Lynceetec.com). He is currently teaching at EPFL and occasionally in foreign universities and institutes. Sangwoo KimSangwoo Kim is set to join EPFL as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in September 2023. Prior to his appointment at EPFL, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He earned his graduate degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his research delved into the relationships between statistics, geometry, and mechanical states in cellular matters. Currently, his research focus on fundamental understanding of biological and living systems, as well as the study of soft and active matter employing principles from mechanics and physics. His research interests encompass embryonic development, tissue morphogenesis, structure and mechanics of soft materials, inherent structure of amorphous materials, and non-equilibrium dynamics of active matter.
