PerformanceA performance is an act of staging or presenting a play, concert, or other form of entertainment. It is also defined as the action or process of carrying out or accomplishing an action, task, or function. In the work place, job performance is the hypothesized conception or requirements of a role. There are two types of job performances: contextual and task. Task performance is dependent on cognitive ability, while contextual performance is dependent on personality.
Répétition (théâtre)vignette Au théâtre, la répétition, appelée aussi le filage, est un exercice d’apprentissage ou de mémorisation d’une partie ou de la totalité d’une pièce de théâtre sous la direction du metteur en scène. Avant la première représentation publique : La répétition générale est la dernière répétition avant la première représentation. Elle couvre la totalité de la pièce dans les conditions de mise en scène de la représentation publique (durée, costumes, décors, son, éclairage...). Elle peut accueillir des amis, des invités, parfois la presse.
CoulisseAu théâtre, les coulisses (plus rarement la coulisse) sont, à l'origine, des glissières qui permettaient le déplacement des panneaux décoratifs, généralement distribués par paires, de chaque côté de la scène, et qui avaient pour double fonction de dissimuler les dégagements latéraux et d'accentuer l'effet de perspective. Aujourd'hui, par extension de sens, les coulisses désignent les parties du théâtre situées sur les côtés et en arrière de la scène, derrière les décors, et qui sont cachées aux spectateurs.
Scenery wagonA scenery wagon, also known as a stage wagon, is a mobile platform that is used to support and transport movable, three-dimensional theatrical scenery on a theater stage. In most cases, the scenery is constructed on top of the wagon such that the wagon, and the scenery it supports, forms a single, integrated structure. Heavy duty casters are mounted to the underside of the platform so that the entire assembly can be quickly moved onstage or offstage, so as to facilitate rapid scenery changes during live productions.
West End TheatreWest End theatre is mainstream professional theatre staged in the large theatres in and near the West End of London. Along with New York City's Broadway theatre, West End theatre is usually considered to represent the highest level of commercial theatre in the English-speaking world. Seeing a West End show is a common tourist activity in London. Famous screen actors, British and international alike, frequently appear on the London stage. There are a total of 39 theatres in the West End, with the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, opened in May 1663, the oldest theatre in London.

Scenic designScenic design (also known as scenography, stage design, or set design) is the creation of theatrical scenery. Scenic designers create sets and scenery that aim to support the overall artistic goals of the production. There has been some consideration that scenic design is also production design; however, it is generally considered to be a part of the visual production of a film or television. The scenic designer works with the director and other designers to establish an overall visual concept for the production and design the stage environment.
