Bardhaman
Bardhaman, anciennement Burdwan (বর্ধমান en bengali) est une ville de l'État indien du Bengale-Occidental ainsi que le chef-lieu du district de Purba Bardhaman. Située sur la Grand Trunk Road, à un peu moins de au nord-ouest de Calcutta, elle est de grande ancienneté et fut jusqu'à l'indépendance de l'Inde le chef-lieu d'un État princier important. L'origine du nom de la ville remonte au et est associé à Mahāvīra, et dernier Tirthankara jaïn, qui y a passé quelque temps.
District de Nadia
Nadia (nɔd̪iːaː) is a district in the state of West Bengal, India. It borders Bangladesh to the east, North 24 Parganas and Hooghly districts to the south, Purba Bardhaman to the west, and Murshidabad to the north. Nadia district is highly influential in the cultural history of Bengal. The standard version of Bengali, developed in the 19th century, is based on the dialect spoken around Nadia. Known as the "Oxford of Bengal", Nabadwip made many contributions to Indian philosophy, such as the Navya-Nyaya system of logic and is the birthplace of the Vaishnava saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Shashanka
Shashanka (IAST: Śaśāṃka, Sanskrit: शशाङ्क, Bengali: শশাঙ্ক) was the first independent king of a unified polity in the Bengal region, called the Gauda Kingdom and is a major figure in Bengali history. He reigned in the 7th century, some historians place his rule between circa 600 CE and 636/7 CE, whereas other sources place his reign between 590 and 625 CE. Shashanka, is credited with creating the Bengali calendar. The term Bangabda (Bangla year) is found too in two Shiva temples many centuries older than Akbar era, suggesting that a Bengali calendar existed long before Akbar's time.

L'université de Calcutta (en কলিকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, en कोलकाता विश्वविद्यालय) est une université située à Calcutta dans le Bengale-Occidental en Inde. Fondée en 1857 elle fut la première université de type occidental officiellement créée en Inde britannique, et regroupe au début du un grand nombre de 'colleges' disséminés dans la ville et à l'extérieur. L’établissement est fondé en 1857 sur la 'College Street' de Calcutta où se trouvent déjà deux institutions supérieures, le 'Sanskrit College' (ouvert en 1827) et le 'Hindu College' (1837); Charles Canning est alors le Gouverneur général des Indes.
District de Murshidabad
Murshidabad district is a district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Situated on the left bank of the river Ganges, the district is very fertile. Covering an area of and having a population 7.103 million (according to 2011 census), it is a densely populated district and the ninth most populous in India (out of 640). Berhampore city is the headquarters of the district. The Murshidabad city, which lends its name to the district, was the seat of power of the Nawabs of Bengal. All of Bengal was once governed from this city.
Dynastie Sena
Les Sena (bengalî সেন Shen) sont une dynastie indienne hindouiste qui a régné sur le Bengale aux . Originaire du sud de la région, elle a été fondée au milieu du par Hemantasena, à l'origine vassal de la dynastie Pala, qui prend le pouvoir et se déclare indépendant en 1095. Son successeur Vijayasena (v. 1096-1158) bâtit un empire sur les ruines de celui des Pala, empire qui contrôle le Bengale et le Nord du Bihar. Avec l'arrivée des Sena, l'hindouisme patronné par les rois côtoie le bouddhisme jusqu'à fusionner : Bouddha devient un avatar de Vishnou.
District de Birbhum
Birbhum district (biːrbhuːm) is an administrative unit in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the northernmost district of Burdwan division—one of the five administrative divisions of West Bengal. The district headquarters is in Suri. Other important cities are Bolpur, Rampurhat and Sainthia. Jamtara, Dumka and Pakur districts of the state of Jharkhand lie at the western border of this district; the border in other directions is covered by the districts of Bardhaman and Murshidabad of West Bengal.
Dâmodar
Damodar River (Pron: /ˈdʌmoˌdaː/) is a river flowing across the Indian states of Jharkhand and West Bengal. The valley is rich in mineral resources and is home to large-scale mining and industrial activity. It was also known as the Sorrow of Bengal because of its ravaging floods in the plains of West Bengal. The construction of several dams on the Damodar and its tributaries has helped control some of the flooding. Damodar means "rope around the belly", derived from Sanskrit दाम (dama) "rope" and उदर (udara) "belly".

It has thousands of years of rich heritage in the form of the great Bengali kingdom of Bhurshut. The district is named after its headquarters, the city of Howrah. The Howrah district lies between 22°48′ N and 22°12′ N latitudes and between 88°23′ E and 87°50′ E longitudes.

Jalpaiguri district (dʒɔlpaːiːguɽiː) is a district of the Indian state of West Bengal. The district was established in 1869 during British Raj. The headquarters of the district are in the city of Jalpaiguri, which is also the divisional headquarters of North Bengal. Jalpaiguri district comprises western Dooars and the major part of the eastern Morang and this area, according to Sailen Debnath, in the ancient time was a part of the kingdom of Kamarupa, and since the medieval period it became a part of Kamata kingdom.
