Sarvajna
Sarvajña was a Kannada poet, pragmatist and philosopher of the 16th century. The word "Sarvajna" in Sanskrit literally means "the all knowing". His father was Kumbara Malla and his mother was Mallaladevi. His birth anniversary is celebrated on February 20 every year. He belongs to the caste of Kumbara. He is famous for his pithy three-lined poems called tripadi (written in the native three-line verse metre, "with three padas, a form of Vachana"). He is also referred as Sarvagna in modern translation.
Vijayindra Tirtha
Vijayīndra Tīrtha (also known as Vijayendra Tīrtha) (1514 - 1595) was a Dvaita philosopher and dialectician. A prolific writer and an unrelenting polemicist, he is said to have authored 104 treatises expounding the principles of Dvaita and defending it against attacks from the contemporary orthodox schools of Vedanta. He held the pontifical seat at Kumbakonam under the rule of Thanjavur Nayaks where he participated in polemical discussions with the Advaita philosopher Appayya Dikshita Inscriptions from that era record grants of villages received by Vijayindra for his triumph over theological debates .
Janna
Janna (Kannada : ಮಹಾಕವಿ ಜನ್ನ) was one of the well-known Kannada poets of the early 13th century who also served in the capacity of a minister and a builder of temples. He graced the court of Hoysala empire King Veera Ballala II and earned the title Kavichakravarthi ("Emperor among poets"). His noteworthy writings include Yashodhara Charitre (c.1209) which deals with Jain tenets, Ananthnatha Purana (c.1230) which deals with the teachings of the 14th Jain tirthankara, Anantanatha and a short piece called Anubhava Mukura.

Eleusine coracana, l'éleusine, est une espèce de plantes monocotylédones de la famille des Poaceae (graminées), sous-famille des Chloridoideae, originaire d'Afrique. C'est une plante herbacée annuelle cultivée comme céréale secondaire pour ses graines comestibles. Elle est l'objet d'une culture vivrière en Afrique centrale et orientale. C'est également une mauvaise herbe des cultures, notamment en Afrique australe et en Amérique du Nord. Ses noms vernaculaires sont éleusine, coracan, mil rouge, mil africain, ragi (Inde).
Srirangapatna
Srirangapatna, autrefois Seringapatam, (kannada : ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣ) est une ville de l'État du Karnataka en Inde, dans le district de Mandya. Situé sur une île formée par le fleuve Kaveri, la ville est un centre de pèlerinage vishnouïte millénaire dédié à la forme Ranganatha de Perumal (Vishnou). C'est l'ancienne capitale du sultanat de Mysore, où le sultan Haidar Alî fut assiégé et qu'il assiégea plusieurs fois dans la seconde moitié du , et où son fils Tipû Sâhib fut tué par les troupes de la Compagnie britannique des Indes orientales en 1799.
