Acharya HemachandraAcharya Hemachandra (हेमचन्द्र सूरी, 1087–1172) est un érudit jaïn, poète et polymathe qui a écrit sur la grammaire, la philosophie, la prosodie et l'histoire contemporaine. Considéré comme un génie par ses contemporains, il a été surnommé Kalikāl Sarvagya « omniscient de Kali Yuga ». Il est né à , dans l'état du Gujarat (environ au sud-ouest d'Ahmadabad) de Chachadeva et Pahini Devi. Ils le nomment Chandradeva. Le temple de Sūrya est situé à son lieu de naissance.

Maitraka dynastyThe Maitraka dynasty ruled western India (now Gujarat) from approximately 475 to approximately 776 CE from their capital at Vallabhi. With the sole exception of Dharapaṭṭa (the fifth king in the dynasty), who followed the Mithraic mysteries, they were followers of Shaivism. Their origin is uncertain but they were probably Chandravanshi Kshatriyas. Following the decline of the Gupta Empire, Maitraka dynasty was founded by Senapati (general) Bhaṭārka, who was a military governor of Saurashtra under Gupta Empire, who had established himself as the independent around 475 CE.

SiyakaSiyaka (IAST: Sīyaka; reigned c. 949-972 CE), also known as Harsha (IAST: Harṣa), was a Paramara king, who ruled in west-central India. He appears to have been the first independent ruler of the Paramara dynasty. Siyaka is the earliest Paramara ruler known from his own inscriptions, which have been discovered in present-day Gujarat, and suggest that he was once a feudatory of the Rashtrakutas of Manyakheta.
