Gerhard Weinberg
Gerhard Ludwig Weinberg (né le à Hanovre) est un historien américain connu pour son travail sur la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il est actuellement professeur émérite à l'université de Caroline du Nord à Chapel Hill. Étant juif, Gerhard Weinberg est persécuté durant son enfance en Allemagne. En 1938, sa famille émigre en Grande-Bretagne puis aux États-Unis en 1941. Il poursuit ses études après avoir fait partie de la force de l'US Army déployée au Japon pour l'occupation du pays, de 1946 à 1947. En 1948, il obtient son baccalauréat universitaire.
