Cypionate d'estradiol

Normethandrone

Normethandrone, also known as methylestrenolone or methylnortestosterone and sold under the brand name Metalutin among others, is a progestin and androgen/anabolic steroid (AAS) medication which is used in combination with an estrogen in the treatment of amenorrhea and menopausal symptoms in women. It is taken by mouth. Side effects of normethandrone include symptoms of masculinization like acne, increased hair growth, voice changes, and increased sexual desire. It can also cause liver damage.

Progestogen (medication)

A progestogen, also referred to as a progestagen, gestagen, or gestogen, is a type of medication which produces effects similar to those of the natural female sex hormone progesterone in the body. A progestin is a synthetic progestogen. Progestogens are used most commonly in hormonal birth control and menopausal hormone therapy. They can also be used in the treatment of gynecological conditions, to support fertility and pregnancy, to lower sex hormone levels for various purposes, and for other indications.

Hormonothérapie

En médecine, l'hormonothérapie est un traitement médicamenteux à base de différentes hormones parmi lesquelles les hormones de croissance et les hormones sexuelles, les hormones thyroïdiennes et bien d'autres molécules endogènes. Ce traitement visant en principe à remplacer la sécrétion d'une hormone, les termes hormonosubstitution ou traitement hormonal substitutif (THS) sont parfois utilisés pour le désigner.

Éthinylestradiol

L'éthinylestradiol, ou éthinyl estradiol (EE), est un dérivé de synthèse de l'estradiol. C'est l'œstrogène actif par voie orale le plus utilisé au monde. On le trouve dans presque toutes les formulations modernes des pilules contraceptives combinées. L'EE est excrété dans les urines et les fèces. C'est un estrogène de synthèse qui est donc libéré dans la nature sans que l'on en connaisse les conséquences.

Estradiol valerate

Estradiol valerate (EV), sold for use by mouth under the brand name Progynova and Primiwal E4 and for use by injection under the brand names Delestrogen and Progynon Depot among others, is an estrogen medication. It is used in hormone therapy for menopausal symptoms and low estrogen levels, hormone therapy for transgender people, and in hormonal birth control. It is also used in the treatment of prostate cancer. The medication is taken by mouth or by injection into muscle or fat once every 1 to 4 weeks.

Norethisterone acetate

Norethisterone acetate (NETA), also known as norethindrone acetate and sold under the brand name Primolut-Nor among others, is a progestin medication which is used in birth control pills, menopausal hormone therapy, and for the treatment of gynecological disorders. The medication available in low-dose and high-dose formulations and is used alone or in combination with an estrogen. It is ingested orally. Side effects of NETA include menstrual irregularities, headaches, nausea, breast tenderness, mood changes, acne, increased hair growth, and others.

Norgestrel

Norgestrel is a progestin which is used in birth control pills sold under the brand name Ovral in combination with the estrogen ethinylestradiol and Opill by itself. It is also used in menopausal hormone therapy. It is taken by mouth. Side effects of norgestrel include menstrual irregularities, headaches, nausea, and breast tenderness. The most common side effects of the progestin-only Opill include irregular bleeding, headaches, dizziness, nausea, increased appetite, abdominal pain, cramps, or bloating.

Noretynodrel

Noretynodrel, or norethynodrel, sold under the brand name Enovid among others, is a progestin medication which was previously used in birth control pills and in the treatment of gynecological disorders but is now no longer marketed. It was available both alone and in combination with an estrogen. The medication is taken by mouth. Noretynodrel is a progestin, or a synthetic progestogen, and hence is an agonist of the progesterone receptor, the biological target of progestogens like progesterone.

Diéthylstilbestrol

Le diéthylstilbestrol (DES) est un diphénol de synthèse aux propriétés œstrogéniques puissantes. Synthétisé au Royaume-Uni en 1938, il fut d'abord commercialisé en tant que médicament dans ce pays sous le nom de Stilbestrol-Borne, puis dans d'autres pays (dont la France) sous le nom de Distilbène ou encore de Stilboestrol. D'abord prescrit par des médecins en 1938 aux femmes qui subissaient des avortements spontanés à répétition (aussi appelés fausses couches) ou des accouchements prématurés, le DES fut alors considéré comme un moyen sûr de prévenir ces avortements spontanés à répétition et de réduire les menaces d'accouchements prématurés.
