VasaiVasai historiquement connue sous le nom de Bassein ou Baçaim, est un lieu historique et une ville importante dans la banlieue ouest de Mumbai . Il fait également partie de la ville de Vasai-Virar dans l'État du Maharashtra dans la division de Konkan en Inde . Vasai était dans le district de Thane avant 2014. Les Portugais ont construit le fort de Bassein ici pour renforcer leur supériorité navale sur la mer d'Oman . Le fort a été repris par l' armée de Maratha en 1739, mettant fin à la bataille de Baçaim.
East IndiansThe East Indians, also called East Indian Catholics or Bombay East Indians, are an ethno-religious Indian Christian community native to the Seven Islands of Bombay and the neighbouring Mumbai Metropolitan Area of the Konkan division. A Dominican missionary by the name Jordanus Catalani, who was either Catalan or Occitan (southern French), began evangelising the locals in Sopara, Thana & Kalyan-Dombivli towns of north Konkan in around 1323 AD. Sopara was an ancient port and an international trading center.

The Mahim Junction railway station on the Western Railway and Harbour Railway of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network is the last station of the city, as neighboring Bandra comes in Mumbai Suburb. Mahim is an ethnically and religiously diverse town and has a Hindu temple, church, mosque and Parsi fire-temple existing within a few meters of each other. The town has a large Rich and Upper Middle class Marathi population.

Mithi RiverThe Mithi River (Pronunciation: [miʈhiː]) is a river on Salsette Island, the island of the city of Mumbai, India. It is a confluence of tail-water discharges of the Powai and Vihar lakes. The river is seasonal and rises during the monsoons. The overflowing lakes also contribute to the river flow, which is stopped by a dam at other times. During this season, the gutter is a favourite with anglers, who can catch large fish that have escaped from the lakes.

Kannada people_Kannadiga The Kannadigas or Kannaḍigaru (ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು), often referred to as Kannada people, are a Dravidian ethno-linguistic group who natively speak Kannada and trace their ancestry to the South Indian state of Karnataka in India and its surrounding regions. The Kannada language belongs to the Dravidian family of languages. Kannada stands among 30 of the most widely spoken languages of the world as of 2001. Evidence for human habitation in Karnataka exists from at least the 2nd millennium BCE, and the region is said to have had contact with the Indus Valley civilization.
