Tanja Egener-Kuhn

Biographie

Tanja Egener-Kuhn studied Biology in Marburg (Germany) and Oxford (UK) and received her PhD in Molecular Biology from the Max-Planck-Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in 1998.  She continued her postdoctoral research in plant biotechnology in a joint-initiative between the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg and the German chemistry leader BASF. Expanding her expertise to the human biotechnology, she joined the Laboratoire de Biotechnologie Moléculaire (LBTM) of the University of Lausanne in 2003 before leaving the lab bench and orienting toward management of academic structures. She coordinated national and regional centers like the NCCBI (National Competence Center for Biomedical Imaging), and the CIBM (Center for Biomedical Imaging) and recently obtained a DAS in 'Management of non-profit organizations' from the Geneva School of Economics and Management. In 2021 Dr. Tanja Egener-Kuhn joined the EPFL's School of Basic Sciences as Deputy to the Dean.
