In evolutionary computation, an initial set of candidate solutions is generated and iteratively updated.

Sociologie urbaine

La sociologie urbaine est une branche de la sociologie qui tend à comprendre les rapports d'interaction et de transformation qui existent entre les formes d'organisation de la société et les formes d'aménagement des villes. L'étude de la première de ces formes, celles qu'une société prend dans l'espace est appelée morphologie sociale depuis Marcel Mauss, Maurice Halbwachs ou Jean Brunhes. Plancher chauffant

Un plancher chauffant est un système de chauffage des bâtiments par le sol. L'énergie de chauffage produit par une chaudière est généralement transmise au plancher via un réseau circulant sous le plancher. Ce réseau est principalement hydraulique ou électrique. Healthy building

Healthy building refers to an emerging area of interest that supports the physical, psychological, and social health and well-being of people in buildings and the built environment. Buildings can be key promoters of health and well-being since most people spend a majority of their time indoors. According to the National Human Activity Pattern Survey, Americans spend "an average of 87% of their time in enclosed buildings and about 6% of their time in enclosed vehicles.

Population model (evolutionary algorithm)

The population model of an evolutionary algorithm (EA) describes the structural properties of its population to which its members are subject. A population is the set of all proposed solutions of an EA considered in one iteration, which are also called individuals according to the biological role model. The individuals of a population can generate further individuals as offspring with the help of the genetic operators of the procedure. The simplest and widely used population model in EAs is the global or panmictic model, which corresponds to an unstructured population.

Architectural lighting design

Architectural lighting design is a field of work or study that is concerned with the design of lighting systems within the built environment, both interior and exterior. It can include manipulation and design of both daylight and electric light or both, to serve human needs. Lighting design is based in both science and the visual arts. The basic aim of lighting within the built environment is to enable occupants to see clearly and without discomfort.

Photovoltaic system

A photovoltaic system, also PV system or solar power system, is an electric power system designed to supply usable solar power by means of photovoltaics. It consists of an arrangement of several components, including solar panels to absorb and convert sunlight into electricity, a solar inverter to convert the output from direct to alternating current, as well as mounting, cabling, and other electrical accessories to set up a working system. It may also use a solar tracking system to improve the system's overall performance and include an integrated battery.
