This lecture discusses various warning signs that can indicate underlying issues, including physical symptoms like digestive troubles, sudden weight changes, sleep difficulties, chronic fatigue, persistent headaches, and unexplained sweating. It also covers emotional changes such as loss of self-confidence, anger, irritability, and feelings of helplessness. Additionally, mental disturbances like difficulty concentrating, decision-making challenges, frequent memory lapses, restlessness, nervousness, and chronic anxiety are addressed. The importance of recognizing and monitoring sudden changes following a stressful episode is emphasized, with guidance on seeking support from EPFL's student affairs service, which offers qualified personnel trained to assist students facing stress-related problems. Various resources for support, including social and psychotherapeutic consultations, individual student support web pages, a well-being wheel, a stress assessment questionnaire, and the Swiss Stress Network website, are highlighted.
