EPFL Architecture at the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne is a transdisciplinary environment within the ENAC Faculty, where architects, civil engineers, and environmental engineers collaborate in research and education. They focus on redefining the role of architecture in society, emphasizing its social and ethical responsibilities. Addressing urgent issues like climate change, urbanization, and social justice, the unit aims to empower architects to act in times of uncertainty. Through teaching and research, they seek to free architecture from extractionism, engage new economic models, and ensure a sustainable future for all. With a strong emphasis on transdisciplinary and transscalar approaches, EPFL Architecture envisions architecture as a transformative discipline that can shape inclusive and resilient spaces for diverse communities.
