Amerigo VespucciAmerigo Vespucci (vɛˈspuːtʃi; ameˈriːɡo veˈsputtʃi; 9 March 1451 – 22 February 1512) was an Italian explorer and navigator from the Republic of Florence, from whose name the term "America" is derived.
