Lecture
This lecture introduces the concept of liquid crystals, covering their formation in solution, different phases, and examples of molecules that form them. It also explores the formation and structure of micelles, the properties of amphiphilic molecules, and the role of surface tension in fluids. The measurement of surface tension using different methods and the Gibbs adsorption isotherm for two-component systems are discussed.
