This lecture covers the various wireless power transfer (WPT) techniques for implantable bioelectronics, including near-field and far-field methods, inductive and capacitive coupling, ultrasound, and comparison of power transfer techniques. It also discusses the selection criteria for WPT, the available frequency bands, and the historical perspective of WPT techniques. The course outlines the system architecture of implantable biomedical devices, analog and digital modulations, impedance matching, and the importance of power transfer efficiency. Additionally, it explains the electromagnetic spectrum, impedance matching principles, and single-circuit branch impedance matching networks.
