This lecture covers the concept of High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging, explaining how cameras stack multiple exposed pictures to create HDR images. The algorithm involves transforming images into matrices, setting exposure thresholds, finding properly exposed pixels, and calculating weighted sums. The process includes rescaling pixel values and working in the HSL color space to control saturation and brightness. The lecture also demonstrates the steps to build an HDR image using MATLAB, including loading images, creating montages, and converting back to RGB. The final HDR image is analyzed for dynamic range, dark and bright pixel percentages.
