Albert PietteAlbert Piette (born April 18, 1960, in Namur, Belgium) is a French anthropologist and a professor at the Department of Anthropology at Paris Nanterre University. His research has focused on questions of observation, especially in the religious world. He describes and analyses details and ordinary forms in everyday life - what he named the minor mode of reality. For several years, the objective of Piette has been to elaborate anthropology as a specific discipline, a science of the human being, different from sociology and ethnology, with precise theoretical and methodological orientations and themes.
Georges ChapouthierGeorges Chapouthier (born 27 March 1945 in Libourne) is a French neuroscientist and philosopher. Georges Chapouthier is the son of Odette Mazaubert and Fernand Chapouthier (1899–1953). Fernand Chapouthier was a classicist and archeologist who was deputy director of the Ecole normale supérieure in Paris. Odette Mazaubert was known under the pseudonym of "Carquelin" for her Saintongeais writings. Chapouthier attended the Lycée Montaigne and the Lycée Louis-le-Grand in Paris.
Michel SerresMichel Serres (sɛʁ; 1 September 1930 – 1 June 2019) was a French philosopher, theorist and writer. His works explore themes of science, time and death, and later incorporated prose. The son of a bargeman, Serres entered France's naval academy, the École Navale, in 1949 and the École Normale Supérieure in 1952. He aggregated in 1955, having studied philosophy. He spent the next few years as a naval officer before finally receiving his doctorate (doctorat ès lettres) in 1968 from the University of Paris (with a thesis titled Le Système de Leibniz et ses modèles mathématiques), and began teaching in 1969 at the University of Paris I.
Henri René GuieuHenri René Guieu (19 March 1926 – 2 January 2000) was a French science fiction writer and ufologist, who published primarily with the pseudonym Jimmy Guieu. He occasionally used other pseudonyms as well, including Claude Vauzière for a young adult series, Jimmy G. Quint (with Georges Pierquin) for a number of espionage novels, Claude Rostaing for two detective novels and Dominique Verseau for six erotic novels. Guieu was one of the authors published by Fleuve Noir company's Anticipation science fiction imprint.

Kacem has had a number of his essays and articles translated into English. She is a professor of moral theology, specialising in ethics and bioethics, at the University of Strasbourg. Her research focuses on topics such as ageing, death, medical ethics, and sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. She is also the founder and former director of the European Centre for Studies and Research in Ethics and former president of the European Society for Catholic Theology.
Louis VialletonLouis Marius Vialleton (December 22, 1859 - December 18, 1929) was a French zoologist and writer, best known for his advocation of non-Darwinian evolution. Vialleton was born in Vienne, Isère. He was the first professor of histology in the faculty of medicine at the University of Montpellier. Vialleton rejected any form of continuous evolution and favoured saltationism. Vialleton attempted to refute gradual transformism from a morphological perspective in his work Morphologie générale Membres et ceintures des vertébrés tétrapodes: Critique morphotogique du transformisme (1924).
Sauveur François MorandSauveur François Morand (2 April 1697, Paris – 21 July 1773) was a French surgeon. In 1724, he became a demonstrator of surgery at the Jardin du Roi in Paris, followed by service as censeur royal and a surgeon at the Hôpital de la Charité (from 1730). He was later appointed surgeon-major of the Régiment des Gardes françaises (1739) and chief-surgeon at the Hôtel des Invalides. He was a founding member of the Académie de chirurgie (1731), and a member of numerous learned societies in Europe.
Julien-Joseph VireyJulien-Joseph Virey (21 December 1775, Langres – 9 March 1846) was a French naturalist and anthropologist. Julien-Joseph Virey grew up in Hortes village in southern Haute-Marne, where he had access to a library. He educated himself and became an apprentice to his uncle, a pharmacist. Arriving in Paris, he attended the League of Ideologues and Human Observers. He later studied medicine and became a medical doctor. After becoming a protégé of Antoine Parmentier (1737-1813), he wrote a major work quickly in the field of anthropology, in which he promoted the theory of polygeny.
