Abstract

We show a novel architecture for massively parallel FMCW LiDAR based on multiheterodyne mixing of two triangular chirped soliton microcombs generated in integrated Si3N4 microresonators using a single laser source and a single coherent receiver. A laser diode (LD, also injection laser diode or ILD, or diode laser) is a semiconductor device similar to a light-emitting diode in which a diode pumped directly with electrical current can create lasing conditions at the diode's junction.
