The Laboratory for Processing of Advanced Composites (LPAC) at EPFL focuses on developing the scientific foundation for the next generation of materials and processes in the fields of polymers and composites. LPAC's research delves into tailoring material systems, developing new materials with controlled characteristics, process simulation, and durability analysis. The lab specializes in advanced processes for thermoset and thermoplastic composites, with a particular emphasis on smart composites, bioinspired composites, nanostructured materials, and functional surfaces. LPAC's work extends to various industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, electronics, and sports, aiming to scale up innovations for industrial applications.
