The Group of SCI SB RB at EPFL focuses on chemical dynamics at the gas-surface interface, probing and controlling surface chemistry using laser radiation. They study the elementary steps of chemical reactions between gas-phase molecules and solid surfaces, such as methane chemisorption on a nickel catalyst. By using molecular beams and laser radiation, they perform quantum state resolved reactivity measurements to understand the reaction process at a molecular level. Their research includes state-to-state molecule-surface scattering, laser spectroscopy, and surface science experiments with molecular beams.
