The Data-Driven Modelling and Control Group at EPFL focuses on developing direct data-driven control algorithms for distributed controllers to handle large-scale interconnected systems of systems that are uncertain, time-varying, and nonlinear. They utilize operational data to compute low-order fixed structure distributed controllers for applications in energy systems and high precision mechatronic systems. Their research includes decentralized and distributed control of microgrids, frequency-domain data-driven control, and robust control of power electronic converters.
