Libéralisme contemporain aux États-UnisLe 'libéralisme américain moderne, ou simplement le libéralisme américain', est une philosophie politique qui vise à obtenir la plus grande liberté individuelle possible. Elle s'appuie sur la conviction que les individus cherchent le bonheur de multiples façons et qu'ils ont le droit de rechercher ce bonheur du moment qu'ils n'empiètent pas sur la liberté des autres. Les tenants de cette philosophie souhaitent que le gouvernement garantisse à tous la possibilité de choisir leur mode de vie en assurant l'existence de droits positifs (systèmes de santé et d'éducation publics) et de droits passifs (liberté d'expression).
Blancs américainsLes Blancs américains (White Americans; white alone or combined) sont une catégorie du Bureau du recensement des États-Unis qui définit les personnes ayant des caractéristiques physiques les rattachant aux Blancs, et ayant des origines variées (Europe, Moyen-Orient, Afrique du Nord, Océanie). Il s'agit donc d'un groupe plus large que celui des Euro-Américains (European Americans). Le terme de Blancs américains est toutefois souvent utilisé de façon interchangeable avec celui d'Euro-Américains et aussi avec celui de Caucasiens (Caucasian Americans).

Common CoreThe Common Core State Standards Initiative, also known as simply Common Core, is an educational initiative from 2010 that details what K–12 students throughout the United States should know in English language arts and mathematics at the conclusion of each school grade. The initiative is sponsored by the National Governors Association and Council of Chief State School Officers. The initiative also seeks to establish consistent educational standards across the states as well as ensure that students graduating from high school are prepared to enter credit-bearing courses at two- or four-year college programs or to enter the workforce.
