Ch'olsLes Ch'ols sont un peuple amérindien du groupe maya. Les Ch'ols vivent jusqu'au milieu du relativement préservés de l'influence espagnole. À cette époque, des investisseurs allemands et américains les emploient comme main-d'œuvre pour les plantations de café dans des conditions de labeur déplorables. Dans les années 1930, à la suite d'une réforme agraire qui suit la révolution mexicaine, ils prennent le contrôle de certaines plantations. Les Ch'ols, avec notamment les Tzoztils et les Tzeltals.

In the former Spanish colonies, the term is also used in the narrow linguistic sense of the Spanish language replacing indigenous languages.
Poqomam peopleThe Poqomam are a Maya people in Guatemala and El Salvador. Their indigenous language is also called Poqomam and is closely related to Poqomchiʼ. Notable Poqomam settlements are located in Chinautla (Guatemala (department)), Palín (Escuintla), and in San Luis Jilotepeque (Jalapa). Before the Spanish Conquest, the Poqomam had their capital at Chinautla Viejo. The Poqomam that advanced further east, to the territories of present-day El Salvador, were largely displaced by the migration of the Pipil people in the 11th century.
Cacaopera peopleThe Cacaopera people also known as the Matagalpa or Ulúa., are an indigenous people in what is now El Salvador and Nicaragua. The Matagalpa are one of the most important cultures in the historical development of the Nicaraguan territory, but they lack precise information that can legitimize their ethnic origin. Most of the studies carried out on this original group have achieved great advances, but they always remain empty that they do not allow to indicate with certainty said origin.
