PothanaBammera Pothana (1450–1510) was a Telugu poet best known for his translation of the Srimad Bhaagavatam from Sanskrit to Telugu. He was a Telugu and Sanskrit Scholar. His work, Srimad Bhagavatamu, is popularly called as Pothana Bhagavatam in Telugu. Pothana was born into a Niyogi Brahmin family at Bammera Village in Jangaon District of Telangana. Historians has some differences about the exact birth place of Pothana, some claim it is as present day Bammera Village in Jangaon District of Telangana and some claim it as present day Vontimitta in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.
District de GanjamGanjam district is a district in the Indian state of Odisha. Ganjam's total area is 8,206 km2 (3,168 mi2). The district headquarters is Chhatrapur. Ganjam is divided into three sub-divisions Chhatrapur, Berhampur, and Bhanjanagar. The Imperial Gazetteer of India 1908 lists Ganjam, along with the Thanjavur and South Canara districts, as the three districts of the Madras Presidency where Brahmins were most numerous. YerrapragadaYarrapragada or Erranna was a Telugu poet in the court of King Prolaya Vema Reddy (1325–1353). The surname of Erranna was Yerrapragada or Yerrana, which are epithets of the fair-skinned Lord Skanda in the Telugu language, but became attached to his paternal family due its having notable members with fair or red-skinned complexions. He was honoured with the title Prabandha-paramēśvara ("Master of historical anecdotes") and Śambhudāsuḍu ("Servant of Lord Śiva").

More than calling "Andhra Mahabharatham" as a translation of Sanskrit Mahabharatha written by Lord Ganesha under the supervision of Veda Vyasa, this Andhra Mahabharatham was an independent translation.
