Observations of B-S(0) ->psi(2S)eta and B-(s)(0) ->psi(2S)pi(+)pi(-) decays

First observations of the B-S(0) ->psi(2S)eta, B-(s)(0) ->psi(2S)pi(+)pi(-) decays are made using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment in proton proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV. The ratios of the branching fractions of each of the (2S) modes with respect to the corresponding J/psi decays are B(B-s(0) ->psi(2S)eta)/B(B-s(0) -> J(2S)eta) = 0.83 +/- 0.14 (stat) +/- 0.12 (B), B(B0 ->psi(2S)pi(+)pi(-))/B(B0 -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-)) = 0.56 +/- 0.07 (stat) +/- 0.05 (syst) +/- 0.01 (B), B(B0 ->psi(2S)pi(+)pi(-))/B(B-s(0) -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-)) = 0.34 +/- 0.04 (stat) +/- 0.03 (syst) +/- 0.01 (B). where the third uncertainty corresponds to the uncertainties of the dilepton branching fractions of the J/ and psi(28) meson decays. First evidence of the B-0 -> J/psi omega decay is found and the B-s(0) -> J/psi eta and B-s(0) -> J/psi eta' decays are studied using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV. The branching fractions of these decays are measured relative to that of the B-0 -> J/psi rho(0) decay: B(B-0 -> J/psi omega)/B(B-0 -> J/psi rho(0)) = 0.89 +/- 0.19(stat)(-0.13)(+0.07)(syst), B(B-s(0) -> J/psi eta)/B(B-0 -> J/psi rho(0)) = 14.0 +/- 1.2(stat)(-1.5)(+1.1)(syst)(-1.0)(+1.1)(f(d)/f(s)), B(B-s(0) -> J/psi eta')/B(B-0 -> J/psi rho(0)) = 12.7 +/- 1.1(stat)(-1.3)(+0.5)(syst)(-0.9)(+1.0)(f(d)/f(s)), where the last uncertainty is due to the knowledge of f(d)/f(s), the ratio of b-quark hadronization factors that accounts for the different production rate of B-0 and B-s(0) mesons. The ratio of the branching fractions of B-s(0) -> J/psi eta' and B-s(0) -> J/psi eta decays is measured to be B(B-s(0) -> J/psi eta')/B(B-s(0) -> J/psi eta) = 0.90 +/- 0.09(stat)(-0.02)(+0.06)(syst). The ratio of branching fractions of the radiative B decays B-0 -> K-*0 gamma and B-s(0) -> phi gamma has been measured using an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV. The value obtained is B(B-0 -> K-*0 gamma)/B(B-s(0) -> phi gamma) = 1.23 +/- 0.06 (stat.) +/- 0.04 (syst.) +/- 0.10 (f(s)/f(d)), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty and the third is associated with the ratio of fragmentation fractions f(s)/f(d). Using the world average value for B(B-0 -> K-*0 gamma), the branching fraction B(B-s(0) -> phi gamma) is measured to be (3.5 +/- 0.4) x 10(-5). The direct CP asymmetry in B-0 -> K-*0 gamma decays has also been measured with the same data and found to be A(CP)(B-0 -> K-*0 gamma) = (0.8 +/- 1.7 (stat.) +/- 0.9 (syst.))%. Both measurements are the most precise to date and are in agreement with the previous experimental results and theoretical expectations. (C) 2012 CERN. Published by Elsevier B.V. A search for CP violation in the phase-space structures of 130 and 15 decays to the final states K-K+pi(-)pi(+) and pi(-)pi(+)pi(+)pi(-) is presented. The search is carried out with a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) collected in 2011 by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. For the K-K+pi(-)pi(+) final state, the four-body phase space is divided into 32 bins, each bin with approximately 1800 decays. The p-value under the hypothesis of no CP violation is 9.1%, and in no bin is a CP asymmetry greater than 6.5% observed. The phase space of the pi(-)pi(+)pi(+)pi(-). final state is partitioned into 128 bins, each bin with approximately 2500 decays. The p-value under the hypothesis of no CP violation is 41%, and in no bin is a CP asymmetry greater than 5.5% observed.
