Quality (business)In business, engineering, and manufacturing, quality – or high quality – has a pragmatic interpretation as the non-inferiority or superiority of something (goods or services); it is also defined as being suitable for the intended purpose (fitness for purpose) while satisfying customer expectations. Quality is a perceptual, conditional, and somewhat subjective attribute and may be understood differently by different people. Consumers may focus on the specification quality of a product/service, or how it compares to competitors in the marketplace.

PolytétrafluoroéthylèneLe polytétrafluoroéthylène (sigle PTFE) est un fluoropolymère issu du tétrafluoroéthylène. Ce polymère technique a été découvert par hasard en 1938 par le chimiste Roy J. Plunkett (1910-1994) qui travaillait pour la société américaine E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, appelée couramment « du Pont de Nemours » et officiellement abrégée en « DuPont ». Il fut introduit commercialement en 1949. Il est commercialisé sous les marques déposées Téflon, Hostalen, Hostaflon, Fluon ou Soreflon.

Optical manufacturing and testingOptical manufacturing and testing spans an enormous range of manufacturing procedures and optical test configurations. The manufacture of a conventional spherical lens typically begins with the generation of the optic's rough shape by grinding a glass blank. This can be done, for example, with ring tools. Next, the lens surface is polished to its final form. Typically this is done by lapping—rotating and rubbing the rough lens surface against a tool with the desired surface shape, with a mixture of abrasives and fluid in between.
