Wireless mesh networkA wireless mesh network (WMN) is a communications network made up of radio nodes organized in a mesh topology. It can also be a form of wireless ad hoc network. A mesh refers to rich interconnection among devices or nodes. Wireless mesh networks often consist of mesh clients, mesh routers and gateways. Mobility of nodes is less frequent. If nodes constantly or frequently move, the mesh spends more time updating routes than delivering data.
Wireless securityWireless security is the prevention of unauthorized access or damage to computers or data using wireless networks, which include Wi-Fi networks. The term may also refer to the protection of the wireless network itself from adversaries seeking to damage the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of the network. The most common type is Wi-Fi security, which includes Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). WEP is an old IEEE 802.11 standard from 1997.
Channel access methodIn telecommunications and computer networks, a channel access method or multiple access method allows more than two terminals connected to the same transmission medium to transmit over it and to share its capacity. Examples of shared physical media are wireless networks, bus networks, ring networks and point-to-point links operating in half-duplex mode. A channel access method is based on multiplexing, that allows several data streams or signals to share the same communication channel or transmission medium.
Hidden node problemIn wireless networking, the hidden node problem or hidden terminal problem occurs when a node can communicate with a wireless access point (AP), but cannot directly communicate with other nodes that are communicating with that AP. This leads to difficulties in medium access control sublayer since multiple nodes can send data packets to the AP simultaneously, which creates interference at the AP resulting in no packet getting through.
RandomizationRandomization is the process of making something random. Randomization is not haphazard; instead, a random process is a sequence of random variables describing a process whose outcomes do not follow a deterministic pattern, but follow an evolution described by probability distributions. For example, a random sample of individuals from a population refers to a sample where every individual has a known probability of being sampled. This would be contrasted with nonprobability sampling where arbitrary individuals are selected.
Algorithme probabilisteEn algorithmique, un algorithme probabiliste, ou algorithme randomisé, est un algorithme qui utilise une source de hasard. Plus précisément le déroulement de l’algorithme fait appel à des données tirées au hasard. Par exemple à un certain point de l’exécution, on tire un bit 0 ou 1, selon la loi uniforme et si le résultat est 0, on fait une certaine action A et si c'est 1, on fait une autre action. On peut aussi tirer un nombre réel dans l'intervalle [0,1] ou un entier dans un intervalle [i..j].
Débit binaireLe débit binaire est une mesure de la quantité de données numériques transmises par unité de temps. Selon ses définitions normatives, il s'exprime en bits par seconde (bit/s, b/s ou bps) ou un de ses multiples en employant les préfixes du Système international (SI) : kb/s (kilobits par seconde), Mb/s (mégabits par seconde) et ainsi de suite. Dans le domaine de l'informatique, le débit est parfois exprimé en octets par seconde. Un octet équivaut à 8 bits, nombre de bits correspondant aux premières et aux plus simples des machines, et permettant de transmettre un caractère alphanumérique.
Wireless LANA wireless LAN (WLAN) is a wireless computer network that links two or more devices using wireless communication to form a local area network (LAN) within a limited area such as a home, school, computer laboratory, campus, or office building. This gives users the ability to move around within the area and remain connected to the network. Through a gateway, a WLAN can also provide a connection to the wider Internet. Wireless LANs based on the IEEE 802.11 standards are the most widely used computer networks in the world.

Il peut être associé à un réseau de télécommunications pour réaliser des interconnexions à distance entre nœuds. 1896 : Guglielmo Marconi réalise les premières transmissions sans fil (télégraphie sans fil) après que Nikola Tesla a déposé les premiers brevets dans ce domaine. 1980 : invention d'Internet et des normes 802 de l'IEEE. La norme la plus utilisée actuellement pour les réseaux sans fil est la norme IEEE 802.
