This lecture presents the journey of developing the EyeCane, an affordable and user-friendly device to assist visually impaired individuals in navigating their surroundings. The project aims to enhance the autonomy and safety of visually impaired people by providing real-time feedback on obstacles and lighting conditions. Through a cost-effective prototyping phase and a focus on user experience, the team successfully transitioned from product design to a functional prototype. With a clear business model and a growing market potential, the EyeCane project demonstrates a promising solution to improve the quality of life for visually impaired individuals.
