Through examples like the case of Amadou Diallo, the lecture delves into the importance of replacing automatic responses with controlled cognition, engaging in counter-stereotypical imagery, individualizing others, and fostering contact with outgroup members. Practical exercises are provided to help participants identify and correct biased responses, imagine counter-stereotypical examples, gather personal information about individuals, and build trust through intergroup interactions.
