Advanced Quantum Architecture Lab
LaboratoryThe Laboratory of Quantum Architecture (AQUA) at EPFL focuses on modeling and developing hardware software systems based on quantum devices. Their research includes high-speed optical sensing, embedded processing architectures, single photon avalanche devices, and design optimization techniques. AQUA also aims to equip engineers and scientists with multi-disciplinary knowledge on cutting-edge hardware software systems. Noteworthy achievements include breakthroughs in protein ion detection using superconducting nanowire detectors, advancements in quantum random number generation for post-quantum security, and the development of fully digital SPAD-based sensors for medical imaging applications.
