Le projet est issu d'une étroite collaboration entre deux futures architectes et un étudiant en génie civil. Cette approche interdisciplinaire répond à la nécessité grandissante de coopération entre architectes et ingénieurs dans le développement de projets de plus en plus complexes. Bien que ces deux disciplines territoriales aient un passé commun, la spécialisation des rôles, intervenue lors de la révolution industrielle, pose encore de nos jours des questions fondamentales. Il s'agit de définir le champ d'intervention et les interactions entre ces deux figures professionnelles distinctes: l'ingénieur et l'architecte. Le thème de la structure, de sa cohérence et de son expression architecturale sont au centre de nos préoccupations. Toutefois, nous avons élargi le cercle de nos réflexions aux différentes échelles urbaines qu'entretient un stade de hockey sur glace avec son environnement. En effet, une patinoire, en tant que structure d'accueil pour une masse importante de personnes, constitue un programme dont la gestion englobe une multitude de réflexions urbaines allant de la morphologie de la ville, de ses transports à l'adéquation d'un tel objet avec son quartier. Le programme englobe l'ensemble des services liés à l'utilisation de la patinoire qui est pensée comme une salle multifonctions pouvant également accueillir des concerts ou autre manifestations culturelles.

The aim of this thesis is to develop a model that provides a fast analysis of structures subjected to large displacements. This is done by transforming the structure in a set of nite particles and by applying a method called dynamic relaxation to it. The latter simulates a dynamic behaviour of the structure by applying Newton's second law to the set of particles until the equilibrium is reached. This can be accomplished using only explicit methods and it does not require to build a global stiness matrix nor to inverse it. The position and rotations of the elements are followed during the process and their forces are always computed locally by using their linear stiness matrix. This methodology is applied to multiple type of elements and the accuracy and speed of the model is nally tested through various examples.
