The use of the low voltage power network for data transmission can produce radiated disturbances. In order to determine field limits when using this technique and methods to check this limit, a procedure must be defined and a standard must be written. The paper presents the technique used to transmit information through the low voltage distribution network, the difficulties to define limits for the radiated field and a field measurement method to check this limit in case of conflict. The coupling factor is defined and experimental results of the measured coupling factor and of the longitudinal conduction loss are presented. The progress of the standardization work is also discussed
