Abstract

A cross-coupled current mirror topology is presented. This topology increases the gain of a circuit that amplifies a pair of differential currents without increasing its power dissipation. An example circuit employing this current mirroring technique is presented. Gain and noise analyses are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed topology in decreasing the input-referred noise. The analysis also shows that this configuration increases the input resistance and settling time of the circuit.
