Biorobotics Laboratory

The Laboratory of Biorobotics (BioRob) at EPFL focuses on the computational aspects of locomotion control, sensorimotor coordination, and learning in animals and robots. They use robots and numerical simulations to study neural mechanisms underlying movement control and learning in animals, inspiring new control methods for robotics. Research areas include neuromechanical simulations, nonlinear oscillators for locomotion control, design of amphibious and legged robots, and rehabilitation robotics. BioRob collaborates on various national and international projects, funded by organizations like the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Research Council.
