The Global Health Institute at EPFL focuses on investigating human health and infectious diseases through cutting-edge technologies. With research groups covering areas such as innate immunity, virology, bacterial pathoecology, genomics, and more, the institute aims to contribute to the understanding, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of crucial world health issues. Established in 2005, the institute has a diverse portfolio of research topics, including host-pathogen interactions, symbiosis, antibiotic resistance, gene regulation, and epigenetics. By harnessing nanotechnologies, microengineering, bioinformatics, and machine learning, the institute provides new insights into human health and disease.
