The Institute of Bioengineering (IBI) at EPFL conducts cutting-edge research at the intersection of engineering, physics, chemistry, computer science, and life sciences. With a focus on bioimaging, biophysics, bioengineering at nano- and microscales, and neuroengineering, IBI aims to understand fundamental biological processes and translate this knowledge into innovative technologies and clinical applications. The institute offers diverse educational programs at the bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels, including a joint program in Life Sciences Engineering. IBI's research agenda covers a wide range of topics, from studying biophysical processes at the nanoscale to developing novel technologies in drug delivery, immunotherapy, tissue engineering, biosensors, and neuroprosthetics.
