Computer Biotechnology Laboratory of Systems
LaboratoryThe Computer Biotechnology Laboratory of Systems (LCSB) at EPFL focuses on the interface of synthetic and systems biology to understand biological processes for medical and biotechnological applications. Their research areas include cellular networks, kinetic modeling, and novel biotransformations. They reconstruct and analyze cellular networks to characterize cell behavior under different conditions, integrating qualitative and quantitative information. LCSB also develops kinetic models to study metabolic processes beyond steady-state assumptions, addressing uncertainties in network topology and kinetic rules. Additionally, they explore enzyme-catalyzed reactions for industrial chemical and pharmaceutical biosynthesis.
