Hydraulic Constructions Platform

The Plateforme de constructions hydrauliques (PL-LCH) at EPFL focuses on fundamental research and innovation in hydraulic engineering for sustainable water resource management. Using state-of-the-art approaches, including analytics, physical experiments, and numerical simulations, the laboratory covers a wide range of activities such as hydropower, sediment management, flood protection, ecohydraulics engineering, and more. Research projects include topics like sediment transport, erosion processes, habitats and connectivity, plant roots biomechanics, and nature-based solutions. The laboratory also offers educational programs in hydraulics, dam engineering, urban hydraulic systems, water resources management, and more, contributing to the training of the next generation of engineers.
