The Bio CMOS Interfaces (BCI) Laboratory at EPFL is a leading lab specializing in the design and fabrication of biosensors-on-chip and bio-interfaces, with a focus on DNA and protein-based arrays. Their research involves developing new bio CMOS interfaces by integrating innovative nano- and bio-materials in electrochemical-sensing surfaces. The lab's unique approach involves co-designing different layers (bio, nano, and CMOS frontend) to enhance the integration of heterogeneous systems, improving biosensor specificity and sensitivity. Currently located at EPFL's antenna in Neuchatel (MICROCITY), the lab is dedicated to advanced design technologies for Circuits and Systems in Biomedical Applications, particularly in Bioelectronics and Biophysics of nano- and bio-structured thin molecular films on silicon chips for applications in human diagnostics, remote monitoring of human metabolism, drug detection, personalized medicine, and precision medicine.
