The School of Life Sciences at EPFL is dedicated to fostering education, research, and innovation at the intersection of engineering and biology. Through cutting-edge research, they aim to advance the understanding of the living world and address biomedical challenges. The school offers Bachelor and Master programs in Life Sciences Engineering, a Master program in Neuro-X, and four Doctoral programs. With 58 research groups operating in 5 institutes, the school explores the interface of biology, basic sciences, computer sciences, and engineering. They cultivate a climate of exploration and knowledge translation to benefit humankind sustainably. The School of Life Sciences hosts the EPFL Life Sciences Early Independent Research Scholar (ELISIR) program, which provides exceptional early-career scientists with the opportunity to lead independent research groups and conduct innovative research in any area of life sciences.
