The Unite du Prof. Huelsken, led by Associate Professor Joerg Huelsken, focuses on investigating the mechanistic and therapeutic implications of the Cancer Stem Cell concept. The lab is dedicated to identifying targetable mechanisms of cancer progression, developing new approaches in immunotherapy to eradicate tumors by targeting Cancer Stem Cells, and studying mouse models of various cancers with an emphasis on metastatic disease. Research topics include niche induction, stromal reprogramming, immune evasion, and the development of microfluidic platforms for the analysis of Cancer Stem Cells.
