Estetrol (medication)
Estetrol (E4) is an estrogen medication and naturally occurring steroid hormone which is used in combination with a progestin in combined birth control pills and is under development for various other indications. These investigational uses include menopausal hormone therapy to treat symptoms such as vaginal atrophy, hot flashes, and bone loss and the treatment of breast cancer and prostate cancer. It is taken by mouth. Estetrol is a naturally occurring and bioidentical estrogen, or an agonist of the estrogen receptor, the biological target of estrogens like endogenous estradiol.
Apalutamide
L'apalutamide est une molécule de la classe des antiandrogènes non stéroïdiens, en cours de test dans le traitement du cancer de la prostate. Il se fixe de manière compétitive sur le récepteur des androgènes, inhibant son activité. Dans le cancer de la prostate évolutif malgré la castration, il retarde l'apparition de métastases ainsi que la progression des symptômes.

Hormonothérapie
En médecine, l'hormonothérapie est un traitement médicamenteux à base de différentes hormones parmi lesquelles les hormones de croissance et les hormones sexuelles, les hormones thyroïdiennes et bien d'autres molécules endogènes. Ce traitement visant en principe à remplacer la sécrétion d'une hormone, les termes hormonosubstitution ou traitement hormonal substitutif (THS) sont parfois utilisés pour le désigner.
Enzalutamide
L’enzalutamide est une molécule faisant partie de la classe des antiandrogènes non stéroïdiens. C'est un inhibiteur des récepteurs des androgènes. Son nom de code pendant le développement était MDV3100. Cette molécule appartient au laboratoire pharmaceutique japonais Astellas Pharma, filiale du conglomérat Mitsubishi. Elle allonge la survie des patients atteints de cancer métastatique de la prostate avec ou sans chimiothérapie. Il fait de même avec les formes évolutives mais non métastatiques, de la maladie.
Chlormadinone acetate
Chlormadinone acetate (CMA), sold under the brand names Belara, Gynorelle, Lutéran, and Prostal among others, is a progestin and antiandrogen medication which is used in birth control pills to prevent pregnancy, as a component of menopausal hormone therapy, in the treatment of gynecological disorders, and in the treatment of androgen-dependent conditions like enlarged prostate and prostate cancer in men and acne and hirsutism in women.
Dydrogesterone
Dydrogesterone, sold under the brand name Duphaston among others, is a progestin medication which is used for a variety of indications, including threatened or recurrent miscarriage during pregnancy, dysfunctional bleeding, infertility due to luteal insufficiency, dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, secondary amenorrhea, irregular cycles, premenstrual syndrome, and as a component of menopausal hormone therapy. It is taken by mouth. Side effects of dydrogesterone include menstrual irregularities, headache, nausea, breast tenderness, and others.
Drospirenone
Drospirenone is a progestin and antiandrogen medication which is used in birth control pills to prevent pregnancy and in menopausal hormone therapy, among other uses. It is available both alone under the brand name Slynd and in combination with an estrogen under the brand name Yasmin among others. The medication is an analog of the drug spironolactone. Drospirenone is taken by mouth. Common side effects include acne, headache, breast tenderness, weight increase, and menstrual changes.
Feminizing hormone therapy
Feminizing hormone therapy, also known as transfeminine hormone therapy, is hormone therapy and sex reassignment therapy to change the secondary sex characteristics of transgender people from masculine or androgynous to feminine. It is a common type of transgender hormone therapy (another being masculinizing hormone therapy) and is used to treat transgender women and non-binary transfeminine individuals. Some, in particular intersex people but also some non-transgender people, take this form of therapy according to their personal needs and preferences.
Spironolactone
La spironolactone est un composé organo-sulfuré de la classe des stéroïdes, antagoniste de la principale hormone minéralocorticoïde, l'aldostérone, par compétition de liaison sur le récepteur des minéralocorticoïdes. Elle est à ce titre un anti-hypertenseur et un faible diurétique. Dans une moindre mesure la spironolactone est un antagoniste des androgènes sur leur récepteur. Elle est commercialisée sous les noms de Aldactone, Novo-Spiroton, Aldactazine, Spiractin, Spirotone, Verospiron ou Berlactone.
