The Brain Mind Institute (BMI) at EPFL is a pioneering institute within the School of Life Sciences, focusing on understanding brain systems at various scales, from molecules to behavior. Directed by Prof. Brian McCabe, BMI comprises 18 principal investigators leading research in areas such as computational neuroscience, neuroepigenetics, psychophysics, topology, evolutionary neurobiology, neural microcircuitry, motor control, and neural genetics. The institute collaborates with leading neuroscience research centers globally, fostering international partnerships and enhancing training opportunities for neuroscience students and researchers. BMI also offers educational programs at the Bachelor, Master, and PhD levels, providing students with a unique blend of biology, engineering, and computer sciences.
