Laboratory of Nanoscale Biology

The Laboratory of Biology with Nanometric Scale (LBEN) at EPFL focuses on single-molecule biophysics, utilizing optical imaging, biosensing, and single-molecule manipulation to study individual biological molecules and complexes. Their research spans nanofluidics, optical microscopy, single-molecule spectroscopy, and large-area growth of 2D semiconductors. LBEN's work includes developing novel nanomaterials and experimental techniques to investigate fundamental questions in molecular and cell biology, such as studying protein aggregates in neurodegenerative diseases and controlling individual molecules for precision sensing.
