Computational Neuroscience Laboratory (IC/SV)

The Laboratory of Computational Neuroscience (LCN) at EPFL, headed by Professor Wulfram Gerstner, focuses on research activities in neural networks and computational neuroscience. Their work includes studying networks of (Spiking) Neurons, learning by surprise and neoHebbian plasticity rules, and reinforcement learning in the brain. Past research has delved into spike-timing dependent learning rules and spatial representation in the hippocampus. The unit offers courses on machine learning, artificial neural networks, reinforcement learning, computational neurosciences, statistics, experimental design, and neuroscience. LCN hosts Computational Neuroscience Seminars and other events to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.
