L'élection présidentielle américaine de 2016, cinquante-huitième élection présidentielle américaine depuis 1788, a lieu le et conduit à la désignation du républicain Donald Trump comme quarante-cinquième président des États-Unis. Alors que la quasi-totalité des enquêtes d'opinion le donnaient perdant, le candidat républicain l'emporte sur la candidate démocrate, Hillary Clinton, en obtenant contre 227.

L'expression col blanc est un terme du langage courant utilisé pour désigner les travailleurs de bureau, en particulier les cadres. Par extension, il peut désigner des individus faisant partie des élites, du monde des affaires et de l'entreprise en particulier, parfois aussi de la politique.
Manual labour
Manual labour (in Commonwealth English, manual labor in American English) or manual work is physical work done by humans, in contrast to labour by machines and working animals. It is most literally work done with the hands (the word manual coming from the Latin word for hand) and, by figurative extension, it is work done with any of the muscles and bones of the human body. For most of human prehistory and history, manual labour and its close cousin, animal labour, have been the primary ways that physical work has been accomplished.

History of the Republican Party (United States)
The Republican Party, also known as the GOP (Grand Old Party), is one of the two major political parties in the United States. It is the second-oldest extant political party in the United States after its main political rival, the Democratic Party. In 1854, the Republican Party emerged to combat the expansion of slavery into American territories after the passing of the Kansas–Nebraska Act. The early Republican Party consisted of northern Protestants, factory workers, professionals, businessmen, prosperous farmers, and after the Civil War, former black slaves.
Rust Belt

Elle est nommée jusque dans les années 1970 la Manufacturing Belt (« ceinture des usines ») ; ce changement d'appellation est dû à l'évolution économique de la région. Skilled worker
A skilled worker is any worker who has special skill, training, knowledge which they can then apply to their work. A skilled worker may have learned their skills on the work experience, on-the-job training, an apprenticeship program or formal education. These skills often lead to better outcomes economically. The definition of a skilled worker has seen change throughout the 20th century, largely due to the industrial impact of the Great Depression and World War II.
Tradesperson
A tradesperson is a skilled worker that specializes in a particular trade. Tradespeople usually gain their skills through work experience, on-the-job training, an apprenticeship program or formal education. As opposed to a craftsperson or an artisan, a tradesperson is not necessarily restricted to manual work. In Victorian England: The terms "skilled worker," "craftsman," "artisan," and "tradesman" were used in senses that overlap. All describe people with specialized training in the skills needed for a particular kind of work.
Toledo (Ohio)
Toledo est la quatrième ville de l'État de l'Ohio, aux États-Unis, avec (recensement de 2010). Elle est connue de par l'histoire de son industrie comme la « Cité de verre » et comme la capitale mondiale des accessoires automobiles. La Jeep y est fabriquée depuis 1941. Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is a system for training a new generation of practitioners of a trade or profession with on-the-job training and often some accompanying study (classroom work and reading). Apprenticeships can also enable practitioners to gain a license to practice in a regulated occupation. Most of their training is done while working for an employer who helps the apprentices learn their trade or profession, in exchange for their continued labor for an agreed period after they have achieved measurable competencies.
